Typhoon Kompasu, although you have not caused any major destruction save uprooting a few old trees in this city, you have successfully made yourself the root cause for the submersion of my beloved less than one year old macbook, and thus substantial chagrin to me. Leaving your window open and sleeping like a baby after a long night of drinking whilst 100km winds and thunderstorms rage outside is not a good idea, especially if your sleeping macbook lies right by the window. Unfortunately I hear the Applecare plan does not cover water damages, and I have already tried turning my MB on, even though I had a feeling that it did not sound like a good move at the time. Probably should have listened to those silent voices in my head telling me not to power it on. I’m usually not this careless and stupid, but what with my misplacing of a credit card and getting a friend’s item stolen all in the last couple of weeks, I’m starting not to feel very good about myself. Even though the credit card was found in my bedroom not long after and the stolen book turned out to be a prank played on me, I feel as if this macbook incident is the final punch of a coordinated fight movie scene where a stunt man accidentally really swings at another’s temple, connecting perfectly to an otherwise unprepared victim/actor. That, and I still don’t know where my Hamilton watch is. I think its time I rewound and recircuit my life around a little, and pray that my macbook decides to attempt the same, in hopes of fixing itself. It is currently standing on a towel in a triangular fashion, much like a tent, dead still and still dead, ironically symbolizing what is the oppositie of what a tent should do, which is to keep dry. Its my fault, and there is no point to this rambling, except maybe a subconscious call for help to anyone who has an ear, and a pair of eyes to read this rant. I am open to your suggestions but don’t really expect much of them to be of much help anyway, since I’ve already done the old “Help me, oh Google!” routine, browsed through the shitty Apple support pages, and found none to help and give otherwise really common sense advice (Is it plugged in?). Apple, your accidental fake punch was just a little too real this time, and although I can’t help predicting that if this MB doesnt fix itself in the course of the next few months I will end up buying another Mac item anyway, I still at the moment really really really really really hate you right now. Probably as much as I feel bad about myself. And please readers, save the symphathy and condescension, it only makes it worse.

So I got a week off for summer and I was told this last week, which promptly prompted me to pack up my things and go on a completely impromptu, improvised, vagabond, hitch-hiking, backpacking trip. I contacted a couple interesting people on Couchsurfing.com and took off before I even got a few replies. Halfway into it and completely exhausted, here I am sitting in front of one of my couchsurfing host’s computer realizing this is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life.

I’ve got loads of stories to tell and a couple pictures to entertain you with, which I will save for later when I have more time and energy and am relaxed at home. Getting up at 5 am and hitchhiking all the way down the country does seem to get you a bit tired!
